The peristaltic pump is mainly composed of a driver, a pump head, a hose, etc. The hose is the only part that is in contact with the material being pumped. So only the hose needs to be replaced during maintenance and replacement. The peristaltic pump has good sealing performance; it can be dry running and other characteristics. We can start from the following three points when selecting a peristaltic pump:
1. Selection of pump head:
Due to the different application ranges of peristaltic pumps, it is very important to choose the correct pump head.
The correct selection of the pump head can avoid many unnecessary failures during start-up and operation. The factors that should be considered when selecting the pump head function are as follows:
(1) Flow range
The flow requirements determine the size of the pump tubing and the type of pump head in a particular application.
(2) Material of pump head
The material of the pump head is chemically resistant, so that it can be adapted to handle corrosive liquids and harsh environmental conditions.
The high-performance pump head has the advantages of light weight, strong chemical resistance, and low cost.
2. Choice of hose:
The choice of hose is as important as the choice of pump head. Conventional pump heads can be applied to pump tubes of various sizes. Special pump heads require special hose assemblies or special connectors.
There are many types of hose materials available on the market, and their prices vary greatly. But only a few can be used as pump tubing materials
Some materials have similar properties, but their pumping performance is completely different. A good hose has good tension and progressive propulsion characteristics. The hoses we provide have been tested and proven to have a stable bending output limit to ensure stable pumping.
3. Select the drive:
Select the drive according to the required drive type. Most pump manufacturers have considered the compatibility of the pump head and the driver to a certain extent, which provides convenience for us to choose the right driver.
(1) Fixed speed drive
The operating speed of the drive is fixed during the pumping process. If the speed needs to be adjusted, we can only change the size of the hose.
(2) Variable speed drive
Variable speed drives are used in applications with large flow adjustment ranges. The peristaltic pump can be continuously variable between high speed and low speed during use. When choosing a drive, you should pay attention to the three primary factors of motor speed, reduction ratio and percentage speed adjustment.
When choosing a peristaltic pump, we should pay attention to the three primary factors: driver, pump head, and hose. More importantly, the engineering suitable for the application can not only maximize the power of the peristaltic pump, but also greatly reduce our cost.
